1990 Specialized Stumpjumper 17 black

I restored this bike for Matt.

This is one of the last chromoly-steel-framed Stumpjumpers ever built. This bike is in very good condition. A few years ago, I restored an identical bike that was so badly rusted that repainting was the only way to save it. Matt’s bike frame was in excellent shape overall, with mostly original components. The bike was previously converted into a comfortable city cruiser by installing a shorter stem, swept-back handlebars, and a comfort saddle. Because the bottom bracket bearings, rails on both caps, and a spindle were heavily pitted, I replaced the original bottom bracket with the new sealed bottom bracket assembly. All components were cleaned, inspected, de-rusted, reassembled, lubed, and tuned up to perfection. The new components are: cables/housings, quick-release skewers, and a spoke protector.
