I have never heard of Van Nicholas bikes before seeing this one. Everything on this bike is original. Beautiful, superlight, and elegant titanium frame; all Shimano XT components; 11-34T cassette; high-end Fox front shocks with Kashima-coated stanchions; hydraulic disc brakes; 27.5″ wheels; Maxxis all-terrain tires.
The Van Nicholas looks like a boutique bicycle shop in the Netherlands, established in 2006 and recently sold to an Italian company, Velo-ce S.R.L. Van Nicholas specialized in titanium frames, accessorized with top-quality components. This frame is labeled “Aerospace grade 3AL/2.5V Titanium” and includes corresponding handlebar grips and a stem with the company’s carved logo. Headset spacers are also titanium, matching the overall bike’s stunning appearance.
I overhauled this bike for Dai. The stretched chain and damaged 10-speed cassette were replaced. We used an 11-36T Shimano Deore 10-speed cassette instead of the original 11-34T cassette.
