Huffy 'Flower Power' girls bike 20" wheels
Best for 5-8 years old girls 4’0″-4’5″ tall. It is not a high end bike I usually work on. Nevertheless, I restored it out of pure curiosity with the same attention level I use on a lot more expensive bikes. It is a surprisingly decent bike, well designed, and made of good materials/components. The main problem I discovered with this bike is lack of quality control during assembly. Bearings were not properly lubricated and had missing parts. Properly lubricated bearings and chain make this bike better than new.
How is this bike different from twice more expensive top-brand equivalents:
- Simpler materials and paint (good, but not the top quality)
- Headset bearings were not lubricated at all, and had missing balls (I replaced both of them)
- Hubs’ bearings were rattling because they were not properly adjusted (I replaced ball bearings and used thicker lubricant)
- Bottom bracket bearings were properly lubricated, but didn’t have enough lubricant
