This 2004 Rockhopper was built with women-specific geometry, best for 5’2″-5’8″ riders. I simply couldn’t pass by this beautiful ‘periwinkle’ frame. I completely rebuilt this bike with new 21-speed drivetrain and several new components listed below.

Rockhopper is a very capable mountain bike with light frame and upscale components. I built this bike thinking of more relaxed city streets or college campus riding. Hence the more comfortable raised handlebars and simpler drivetrain. The new cassette has 7 instead of 9 cogs; however, it employs the larger-than-original 34T cog that makes climbing much easier. The Specialized Crossroads tires with uninterrupted threads are perfect for paved roads and can be safely taken off-roads.
