This bike is remarkable for two reasons: it is likely the last ChroMoly steel version of the Hardrock before Specialized moved entirely to aluminum. The 4130 Chromoly frame makes it a favorite for “retro-mod” builds. The frame color of this bike is also unusual; I only saw this spectacular ‘Mango’ color on high-end 1998 Stumpjumpers.

Best for 5’8″-6’2″ riders. I don’t have a 2003 Specialized catalog, but I’ve included this bike’s information from Bikepedia and Bicycle Blue Book. When I bought this bike, most of everything on it was a complete mess. Bent cranks with busted threads someone tried to hammer out of the bottom bracket. Badly rusted fork and handlebars, beaten derailleur, mismatched shifters, tires, wheels, etc., basically – everything you should expect from a Craigslist bike in excellent conditions :–).
