199x Specialized SportRock m2000 20.5" black

The SportRock is perhaps the most mysterious Specialized bicycle. I can’t find any mention of this bike in any Specialized catalogs. This bike offers a more relaxing upright riding position than high-end Specialized bikes.

This bike has a 20.5″ ChroMoly steel frame, best for 6.0″-6’7″ riders. I am not sure whether my bike has all its original components. I replaced the badly rusted steel stem, headset, and handlebars with new ones, made from alloy, and kept the sturdy Araya mountain wheels with a 21-speed Shimano drivetrain. The old-school original shifters are replaced with a new Shimano shifters/brake levers combo. A completely rusted, low-end Shimano SIS derailleur is replaced with a new Shimano Altus A10 derailleur from the late 90s.

This is James’s bike now.
