1997 Specialized Hardrock 20 Boys 'black'

Rare vintage Specialized Hardrock. Simply couldn’t resist to buy it – it is well built, tough, and light. I modernized its rugged vintage look with modern silver cable housings and fat tires.

Best for 5-8 years old riders 4’0″-4’6″ tall, with 22″-25″ inseam. It is kids bike, but I’ve seen 150+ lbs riders using a variant of this bike as a BMX. CroMoly steel frame, 20″-diameter wheels, 6-speed shifter, cantilever brakes, fat all terrain tires.  The original 1997 Specialized catalog (page 59) indicates the color of this bike as black; however it is rather ‘dark cherry’, just look at the photos.

This is Josh son’s bike now.
