1996 Specialized Ground Control A1 Comp 22"
A piece of mountain biking history, competition version of one of the first dual suspension bikes. Extra Large 22″ frame, best for 6’2”-6’7″ riders. Active Independent Mechanism (AIM) rear suspension, 24-speed Shimano Deore transmission, new Maxxis Pace all-terrain tires. Original price $1,500. Here is this bike’s page from the original 1996 Specialized Catalog. I ride a simpler version of this bike (not Comp) and love it. Unlike modern days rear shock that has to be serviced every 300 miles, this bike’s rear shock has an indestructible steel coil that doesn’t need any maintenance.
Available for $1,200. Email me at bikesheaven1@gmail.com with questions. Shipping in the continental USA is $250
