This bike is a dream come true :–)

I rebuilt this bike for its original owner, who was on a mission to upgrade it with the best possible components of its era. This bike was not a garage queen. The 30 years of trusted service left some marks on the frame and components; however, the lack of ugly scratches on the chainstay is a sure sign of a skilled cyclist to me. Pretty unique Specialized ‘very red’ frame color still looks fantastic; it is tempting to touch its velvety surface. This dream machine now has an all Shimano XTR 24-speed drivetrain with a 32T cassette, RockShox SID carbon fork, Ritchey WCS seatpost/stem/pedals, light and tough Maxxis Page 26×1.25″ all-terrain tires, and a weightless Selle Italia titanium saddle. I repainted the cool, super-comfortable Scott handlebars and installed the new AT4 bridge. This bike now weighs 23 lbs.
