ALL-ORIGINAL Raleigh Superbe English roadster, best for 5’9″ and taller riders.  

This 1974 Raleigh “Superbe” is the top of the 26″-wheeled British 3-speed “All Steel” roadster breed from Nottingham. It is a perfect combination of ultimate comfort (perfectly upright riding position ) and traditional British style. It is a true do-it-all bike, fast enough on paved roads and sturdy enough off-road. These bikes were so universal, comfortable, reliable, and well-built that they were nearly unchanged from 1930x to 1980x. See “How a bicycle is made” (1945). These bikes were used as utility bikes by the British Army and Police, known as “Bobby Bikes”. It is an ‘all steel bicycle’.

Indestructible and super comfortable carbon steel frame, all chromed components, famous for its reliability Sturmey-Archer AW internally geared 3-speed hub, 26×1-3/8″ chromed steel rims. It is impossible to find a “Superbe” in decent condition, let alone in this suave ‘Coffee’ color. 

It will take time to restore this bike to its former glory. Here is a ballpark idea of the restoration cost. This bike is pretty unique, and it deserves to be restored with all of its original components. Once done, it will look and perform like new again.
