1960x Norman of England 20" black

This is Imelda’s bike now.

All original English “all steel” bike – Norman roadster, best for riders up to 5’11” tall.  This bike is a perfect combination of ultimate comfort (perfectly upright riding position) and traditional British style.

This Norman of England bike was made by Norman Cycles – a British company in Ashford, Kent, one of the largest bicycle manufacturers in the United Kingdom. Norman bicycles are very rare in the USA. The company ceased production in 1972. Based on the seat tube sticker, this bike was sold by Joselyn’s Bicycles in Menlo Park, San Francisco Bay Area.

This bike’s carbon steel frame looks identical to the 1972 Raleigh Sports frame. The Wrights leather saddle on this bike looks very much like the Brooks leather saddle on Raleigh Sports. It is a single speed bike with coaster brakes and a rim brake on the front wheel. 26×1-3/8″ tires.

After completely disassembling this bike, thoroughly cleaning it, and inspecting every component, I properly lubricated and tuned up everything, making it function like new and ready for another 50 years of service. Yes, it includes both hubs, headset bearings, and pedal bearings. Everything.

I repainted only the fenders to remove existing rust damage and protect them from elements. All other surfaces are original; I just cleaned them, waxed them, and protected them from elements with ultra hydrophobic British ceramic coating.

I also added modern-day tires, an LED front light, a leather saddle bag, and a cup holder with leather straps to complete the classy look of this incredible vintage machine.
